Different types of sheet metal laser cutting


Sheet metal laser cutting can be divided into different types, depending on the source used:

  • CO2 laser cutting: is combined with punching in Minifaber. It is ideal for cutting all materials except copper. The advantage of CO2 laser cutting lies in the excellent cut quality, even on thick sheet alloy steels. CO2 laser cutting is combined with subsequent bending to make the parts required by the customer.
  • Fiber laser cutting: is used in cutting and welding on three-dimensional machines; this technology can cut all materials including copper. It is used in conjunction with and to complement drawing and hydroforming.
